Sculpture & Works of Art

The sculpture collection at Daniels Antiques spans five centuries of European and American work. It begins in the Renaissance, with bronzes after Riccio and Tiziano Aspetti from the foundries of Padua and Venice, and a fire-gilt Mars made in Augsburg in the years of the Thirty Years' War.

From Rome comes the Grand Tour reduction trade at its most ambitious, a signed and dated Marcus Aurelius from the Hopfgarten foundry. The modern holdings center on Auguste Rodin, cast under the sculptor's own foundry contracts, with American historical bronzes by Gutzon Borglum and George Edwin Bissell, and portraits of Sir Winston Churchill in bronze, gold, and oil.

Every work is researched against the museum casts, foundry records, and published literature of its subject, and described with full provenance. Condition reports are available on request, and pieces may be viewed by appointment at our galleries in Aspen, Colorado, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Daniels Antiques is always interested in acquiring fine sculpture, particularly Renaissance and Baroque bronzes, signed Grand Tour casts by Zoffoli, Righetti, and the Hopfgarten foundry, and documented casts of Rodin. Please contact us if you have a piece to sell.
