H.C. Evans Horse Race Machine, circa 1930.

$1,234.00

We are excited to present an extraordinarily rare and museum-quality 1930s H.C. Evans Horse Race Machine, crafted by H.C. Evans & Co. of Chicago, Illinois, once the leading manufacturer of gambling equipment. This machine is a remarkable example of early 20th-century American craftsmanship and a one-of-a-kind collector’s item. Finding a horse race machine from this period in any condition is rare; finding one fully restored is virtually unheard of.

This machine has undergone a meticulous, yearlong restoration process to return it to its original 1930s splendor. Each component was disassembled and expertly restored. The machine is mechanical and gear-driven. It is the only known machine with the original glass globe, the only electrical component. The frosted globe has a series of different-colored bulbs and flashes various colors when the horses are in motion. The color shown when the horses stop denotes the reward the winner receives.

Its historical value, museum-quality restoration, and the unparalleled rarity make it a one of a kind piece.
