WWII German Schneider 10x80 Binoculars
These 10x80 binoculars, circa 1940s, were originally produced for the German forces
during WWII. They were produced by the maker Joseph Schneider, who was one of the
main providers of high quality binoculars during the war. The markings attributing the
binoculars to Schneider were polished off of the instrument by the Dutch after World War
II, who then re-sold the binoculars in an effort to recuperate the money they had lost
during the war. The 45 degree angle is one of the most comfortable angles to help an
observer sustain for extended watches, and also the most versatile for both land and air observation.
