original optics in a distinctly Japanese straight-body instrument. Undeniably a true piece of artwork in polished steel, these binoculars offer astounding visual clarity along with their original gimbal, formerly deck mounted on a battleship. This particular pair was on a Japanese destroyer, one of the most formidable destroyers of the World War II era. They only allotted one pair of binoculars per destroyer, making this style particularly unique. The Japanese avoided marking their binoculars, so it is impossible to tell which ship each pair originally belonged to.
